Product Questions

Questions on ACTi TCM-7811 Vandal Proof Outdoor PoE Fixed Dome Camera

  • From cc1234 at 20/07/2012 11:22
    • on page 10 of the manual, it said that the power from the POE is not sufficient to operate the heater - in that case, is a power adaptor provided with the camera or do we need to buy it as a separate item ?
    • Hi There,
ACTi have confirmed that you will need to source locally a 12V / 10.8W PSU to power the heater in the ACTi TCM-7811 IP camera.
ACTI do not now provide power adapters with any of their camera models which accept POE (Power Over Ethernet) as a power source.
We could supply a suitable PSU if you prefer.

  • From cc1234 at 13/03/2012 08:05
    • 1. is it true day and night vision ?
      2. How many metres can the camera see at night ?
      3. is it capable of face recognition ?
      4. there is a fan and heater built in - will these come on automatically when the temperature falls below or rises above certain thresholds ....?
    • 1. Yes, with built-in IR-cut filter, which ensures accurate colour rendition during daylight and best monochrome infra-red low-light sensitivity overnight.
      2. The manufacturer claims a 'Working IR distance' of 40 metres - probably an exaggeration, and half that would be a more realistic claim for useful infra-red light distance.
      3. No facial recognition
      4. Yes to automatic control of the fan & heater according to the ambient temperature
