Quick Overview
The Axis M1113-E Outdoor Network Camera comes ready to mount in an IP66-rated housing which ensures protection against, dust rain and snow. What's more, installation is made simple with the wall-bracket included and the Power over Ethernet capabilities of the camera allowing power and video to be taken to and from the camera over one Ethernet cable using a PoE injector (not included). The M1113-E provides high image quality (up to 800x600) through a varifocal (2.8-8mm) DC-iris lens and a progressive scan 1/4" CMOS image sensor at up to 30 frames per second.

The Axis M1113-E Outdoor Network Camera features a CS-mount, varifocal, DC-iris lens which in cooperation with a progressive scan 1/4" CMOS image sensor and a frame rate of up to 30fps provides excellent image quality (up to 800x600) without motion blur. The M1113-E also features multiple H.264 streams to maintain high image quality at optimal bandwidth and thanks to Power over Ethernet support, installation is made quick and easy. With an IP66 rated housing, protection against dust, rain and snow is ensured whilst the included sunshield and the UV resistant polymer of the casing ensures protection against sunlight without an additional heater.

- I'm considering this camera as a weather-cam. It will be mounted about 15ft up pointing slightly upwards in a NW direction to record sky conditions. In summer evenings the sun will come into view. Will any cloud and sky detail be visible with the sun in the view? And could the sun cause any damage to the camera?
- Hello Ray,
It's a tough call, essentially no camera is going to render anything useful whilst the sun is in the field of view.
I don't think the sun would actually damage the sensor (this used to be a concern with early CMOS chips). - Do you find this question helpful? Yes No
