Product Questions

Questions on D-Link DCS-930L Wireless N Home Network Camera

  • From David at 11/03/2012 13:17
    • Will my 'internet conected' TV be able to display the pictures from this camera?

The camera and the TV will be connected to the same router.
    • Hello David,

It's a question that crops-up fairly often and as yet we've not really got a definite response for you. It depends on your TV's browser capability. Firstly, you'll need to be able to enter a local IP address into the browser address bar and be sure that the TV can connect to, and view, other devices on your LAN. You could probably prove this by accessing your router and logging-in to view its configuration on your TV.

Secondly, it'll depend upon whether the camera needs your browser (TV) to run any plug-ins in order for you to view live video, a typical example is that many IP cameras require the ActiveX plugin which can only be used with Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser. You should be able to test this by viewing public IP cameras on the internet e.g. www.tidemillyachtharbour.co.uk

      Hope that helps.
