Questions on QNAP VioStor VS-2012 Network Video Recorder

  • From sam at 29/01/2010 21:38
    • Are you able to access the VS-2012 VioStor NVRs remotely using an apple iphone 3gs?
    • Hi Sam,

As yet there is no iPhone App from QNAP.
We anticipate that they will have one approved before too much longer.
They offer their VSmobile application for use with mobile phones and PDAs using the Windows Mobile operating system.
You should be able to browse to your QNAP NVR using the Safari browser in your iPhone.
You will of course need to configure your router to allow you access to your QNAP NVR.

      Hope that helps ...

  • From laurent at 04/01/2010 14:14
    • Can I connect a screen to the viostor to view the cameras ?

      many thanks,

      laurent
    • Hi Laurent,
You can't connect a screen directly to the QNAP NVR. You access it using the screen on any other networked device, for example using your PC or laptop connected to the same local network OR via the internet from a PC/laptop at another site. You use your browser to access and view the CCTV software built into the Network Video Recorder,
      Hope that helps ...

    • What is the higest Recording Resolution the Network Video Recorder Achieves ?
    • A maximum of 8 megapixels per camera, so max 3840 x 2160 pixels.
(at a reduced frame rate which we are trying to find out from QNAP - we'll update this answer later)
