    The Vivotek FD8134-SS model is for the Argentinian market only - it doesn't have the on-board micro-SD storage card feature.

  • Happy that this camera is not suitable for true outside exposure as per the other post, however would it be suitable to place in a dry, covered location such as a porch?

    I think it would be fine in a porch.
    Bear in mind the advice that we repeat many times throughout the website that you cannot 'see out' through windows using cameras with built-in infra-red LEDs, you will see only the reflection of those LEDs in the window.

  • The Vivotek FD8134 is an indoor camera, the FD8134V is an outdoor vandal-resistant version of the same camera. It's impossible to be sure how long this camera will last in marine / seaside conditions. Only stainless steel is really durable for marine applications. Typically, painted camera housings will be fine for about 3 years and then the salt corrosion will cause the paint to blister and peel. Some alloys will also suffer from oxidisation. The camera will probably continue to work OK. You will need to ensure that you clean the dome's bubble sufficiently often to keep it clear of build-ups of salt and other dirt.
