    Yes, you can access the Y-cam from your iPhone. You can either use a browser to access it or an App from EyeSpyFX.com or TotalControlApps.com (also check the iPhone App store).
    
    I would recommend the SD versions of the Y-cams, only £10 more but latest model, firmware and built-in micro-SD card slot for on-board recording in the camera.
    
    Bear in mind that the Y-cam will be on your home/office network and you'll need to configure your router to allow port forwarding of the video feed from the camera - you can find the settings for this at www.portforward.com, simply select your router model from the list on their home page, then navigate to the Y-cam at the very bottom of the list of devices, clicking the Y-cam link will then guide you through how to configure port forwarding for a Ycam.

  • I'm looking to mount the camera just inside a DG window to view the area immediately outside, will the IR cause the image to be whited out? Also, is the IR switchable to avoid this problem.

  • Hi Steve,
    Viewing through windows is always a bit problematic and you will be prone to seeing reflections off the internal surface of the window. As you have correctly guessed, this will be a greater problem if you use the Y-cam's built-in infra-red LEDs, as they will reflect back into the camera. You can select the IR LEDs off in the camera's admin setup and choose low-light colour / moonlight mode for best low light performance without the IR LEDs.

  • Can the Y-cam send me an email if it detects movement?
  • Yes. The Y-cam promo video (at the bottom of each of our Y-cam product pages) mentions this capability at about 1 min and 50 secs through. When it detects movement it can send an email with an image attached.
