We’ve just received in the office two new Hikvision NVR models brand new for 2016 – the DS-7716NI-I4-16P and DS-7608NI-I2-8P. Both represent fantastic upgrades from the previous range, combining improved hardware with a wide range of support for cameras up to 4k in resolution!

They are perfect for use with Hikvision 4MP IP cameras, and therefore make a great base for any new IP camera CCTV system in 2016.

Hikvision have recently released a new range of 4MP cameras – the R6 family line – which expands upon their existing 2-line range with better WDR resolutions and support for their new H.264+ video compression codec.

We gave the new DS-2CD2742FWD-I (4MP) model a test in the office against the older DS-2CD2732F-I (3MP), and the results are dramatic as you can see here for yourself! It performed far better at all WDR settings and provided a much clearer picture of our strongly back-lit subject.

This new range also supports Hikvision’s new H.264+ Smart Codec which provides a much better compression rate of high definition footage than the previous H.264 Codec. As shown in a recent video, this improvement can save you up to 66% space when compared with the previous iteration, which can obviously go a long way to help reduce the cost of on-going data storage.

The Hikvision DS-2CD2112  a 1.3 MP external IP network dome camera, recording at 1280 x 960 resolution. It is contained within an IP66-rated weatherproof housing and also has an impact protection rating of IK10. This camera uses standard video compression with a high compression ratio and progressive scan CMOS. Its high-performance LEDs allow for 10 to 30m IR range, giving clear images even in low light. It also features two-way audio and is powered by PoE.

This camera is available with two different lens options:

• Hikvision DS-2CD2112 2.8mm
• Hikvision DS-2CD2112 4mm

Please note that the choice of lens does not alter the price of the product.

Each lens is best suited to a certain type of security application. The 2.8mm model gives the clearest view of individual faces and would be ideal for a large entrance or car park. The 4mm lens gives you a slightly narrower view and we found this was ideal for monitoring outside the use-IP office.

But don’t just take our word for it- why not take a look at our recently recorded sample footage.

Hikvision have also just released two new brackets, which are an ideal pairing for these cameras. The DS-1258ZJ is a traditional plastic wall mount bracket and the DS-1259ZJ is a diagonal type bracket.  Both of these products are easy to install and provide a tidy solution to the problem of camera cables.

The ACTi E Series of IP CCTV cameras features a range of both indoor and outdoor dome cameras, including two indoor mini domes. These are available from 1MP to 5MP, depending on the quality of image you require.

The E Series dome cameras have a range of features, allowing users to tailor their choice specifically to their security requirements.

The E66, E67 and E84 models offer superior low light sensitivity. They are able to remain in colour mode and capture excellent video quality even in very low light.

The E64, E65, E74, E85 and E86  feature superior Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), allowing the capture of even greater detail.
