Camera detection event to switch on LED light

Hi Dan, I came across a Youtube "review" of the DS-2CD2347G1-L(U) by some Oz Security guys from Perth in which they claim you can use line crossing smart events to trigger the LED light. (they don't show any configs, but footage that shows the line crossing event and the light coming on. The...

Camera detection event to switch on LED light

Thanks Dan.. I was mostly curious, but this seems to be more of a Arlo, etc camera type of feature.. put the light on as deterrent and illiminate scene for recording. Sure i can use a IR LED Cam.

Noisy fan hikvision NVR solved with silent power bricks

thanks stevei.. The worry about damaging original parts went out the window while cutting the cables off the psu :-) You a right on the noise, without the low noise adaptor the nocuta was still outside (my) tolerable noise level for where it is installed. But those considering less invasive...

Camera detection event to switch on LED light

Hi, in some posts it was mentioned that the Hikvision Colorvu Cameras cannot turn on the LED light based on smart events. Is there any other camera that can do that? To light up the scene to capture more details once motion is detected. I would have thought having camera with built in light...

Noisy fan hikvision NVR solved with silent power bricks

Hi. I finally jumped and added the external power brinks to my 7608NI-I2-8P. Using Noctua NF-A4x10 PWM (40mm) to replace the case fan and a Noctua NF-A8 ULN, (80mm) as a new addional fan to bring air in. No fancy video, but similar to mozso using Dremel to cut hole into bottom and using a fan...

Noisy fan hikvision NVR solved with silent power bricks

Hi. No update as such. I unplugged the case fan to make it bearable. Decided to go the external power brick route (still waiting for it to arrive) with a noctua case fan.

Noisy fan hikvision NVR solved with silent power bricks

same boat only i got mine last week.. my first impression is the main noise culpit is the case fan on the side.. most noise is coming from air airflow and not the fan itself. Planning on replacing both fans with noctu and see. If there was single power brick to be found I'd probably go with...

    Can't decide on 4CH K1 NVR or 8CH K2

A difference you might want to keep in mind, the 4 channel K1is fanless. The K2 and the L2 both have two fans and are pretty noisy . Depending on your planned location and noise sensitivity this might be consideration. (something i did factor in..)

cam selection for mounting narrow soffit

Thanks a lot Dan.. no need for events recording. actually there is the 2045 as well , which is 4MP darkfighter cam (Easy IP 3.0 ) but I presume there is no real reason to use that over the 2065 (other than price). I've also looked at the Mini Dome.. daz

cam selection for mounting narrow soffit

Hi, I'm looking for couple of cameras for front and back of 2 storey house. Its for overlooking 7m*6m front garden/drive and 7m*15m back garden. I can't mount camera onto exterior walls , and only have about 7cm wide soffit to mount the cameras. I found a few mini-bullets that have a mounting...
