    Utilising Unused POE Ports

I can’t see any problem with it, provided you get enough power from the NVR. An unmanaged switch doesn’t become part of any network as it doesn’t care about IP addressing.

    cameras for office

Face recognition has a pretty low success rate in general. The Police claim a very low hit rate. We’ve used it at work with AWS doing the actual work. For CCTV I’d be surprised if the technology was ready now. Face detection would be something I’d look at.

    Network connectivity risk?

There are a few Wi-fi cameras, but I expect most of us are running network cables. Partly for reliability, it also to get the power to the camera over the network cable. There are some cameras that record ‘to the cloud’ and those are at risk if the Internet connection drops. They could...

NVR integration with other IP devices

It’ll largely depend on the connectivity needed. If the fingerprint reader made an outbound TCP connection it might work. If you need to initiate a TCP to the fingerprint reader from the LAN then it gets interesting. Create a static route to get you to the network subnet of the NVR (what Phil...

Yes, unless something is stopping you reaching that port.

    The Issue with Fisheye Cameras

The angle of view, which is being discussed in this thread is 180 degrees. Mounting on a ceiling provides what they call a 360 degree viewing experience. Two different things.

    The Issue with Fisheye Cameras

    That’s 180 degrees rather than 360.
