You are correct in assumption. Recording 24/7 plus smart events or motion detection works as normal. People tend to record on motion/event trigger to save HDD space etc, but not too much of a worry now days with h265
It's worth noting motion detection is the least reliable, as it is essentially...
Not in my case. Downgrading from the pulled back v4.21.005 always resulted in the NVR being reset back to factory defaults. It's best to go in with the view that it will be reset and back up beforehand. Although there have been recommendations made not to restore from the backup, as this could...
With virtual host enabled you should be able to log directly into the camera settings (not NVR) that'll give you more control over the camera individual features.
Go to system settings, camera management and then IP camera. Each camera will have an IP which you can click on to connect to, login...
Can I ask what your Hikconnect server address is set to? My one has reset to one that doesn't respond to pings it seems..
Also just to confirm I am also noticing your first two issues of VGA plus hdmi set up and boxes. Can't comment on notify surveillance as never had it enabled.
Highly recommend waiting for a while. Just to summarise for anyone reading this in the future:
1. Hik-connect is not working on my K2 NVR. (Worked/Works fine when I downgrade to 3.4.109)
2. VGA + HDMI set up is unstable. Setting the live output to hdmi resets back to vga after a restart of the...
Sorry for the confusion I was referring to the v4 that was published earlier this year that got pulled. Highly doubt this one will get pulled.
If your hikconnect app is working as expected, don't worry about the hik connect server address to much. It's just a server that allows the hik connect...
For my set up where my NVR is, I have a VGA monitor attached. I also have an HDMI travelling to my main TV abit further away. Allows me to make any changes to the NVR easily with the monitor, while the TV I can quickly switch to view the cameras. (so currently, the VGA works as normal, but the...
To be fair the issue I'm facing makes me rate it very low for the time being. I must say the NVR interface is very simple now, very smooth (more user friendly for consumers) Can't comment on the camera playback as I've always had good playback for my 8MP cameras (265+) so using less bandwidth. I...
One thing I've noticed so far is that it doesn't stick with the live display output selection. For example I have VGA and a hdmi connected. Upon restart the hdmi loses its live view, forcing me to go back to the NVR settings (direct, not via IE) and set my menu to VGA and live view to HDMI...
Only the notes exist. The date seems fairly recent so probably the firmware will be on the horizon. Honestly I stumbled across it while searching Google to see any updates for v4 on the K series.. so hopefully it's coming soon.
I have a feeling hikvision have been working on bringing this lite...
Hey all,
I've stumbled across this firmware spec PDF: https://www.hikvision.com/content/dam/hikvision/en/support/download/firmware/nvr/k-series/k2,4,8/release-notes/External_K51_-Lite-V4.30.005-build200628_release_note.pdf
Is this v4 for the K2 NVRs again? @Dan @Phil
Also on a less exciting...
Just install the version 3 firmware as per the usual upgrade procedure. The NVR will reset to factory defaults so best to do it at a time where you have everything ready to set up the NVR again
