Hikvision Password Reset - Do It Yourself

I use Scott Lamb's TFTP tool. It works like a charm.

Hikvision Password Reset - Do It Yourself

Did you use Hikvision's TFTP? Which firmware did you try load? There is a file size cap of 32MB on Hikvision's TFTP app that might have prevented the upload.

Hikvision Password Reset - Do It Yourself

Recommended route is to use SADP's forgot password option and send the xml to Hikvision. If that is not an option you could try using TFTP. I've done it on a DS-7616NI-K2 but not sure about the I2.

Issue with one camera remote viewing

When you lose the connection to the camera is there a error message, a continuous spinning modal? When you switch your device to mobile data log out of the Hikconnect app, then close it down completely. Reload and log back in - Any difference?

Referencing a camera on an Hikvision DS-7616NI-I2-16P NVR

Phil is right, route 2 is preferable. It's a great scenario and I'm going to try some ideas on my side. Is your NVR close enough to your BT infinity hub to connect them via Ethernet cable?

Hikvision Password Reset - Do It Yourself

Several of Hikvision's NVRs have RS-232 connectors and for those that don't, there should be a JST connector on the main board. With software like SecureCRT and the right cables, you can flash and reset the device. More modern NVRs work well with TFTP resetting. Agreed, the reset process is...

Forgot to mention you may need to edit the TFTP server in the code here (line 171):

Using Scott Lamb's TFTP tool I was able to upload the firmware and the camera was set to inactive: To make use of this wonderful tool you will need: Python 2.7 X86-64 I have not tested it with v3. A code editor like VSCode or Atom. Extract all the files to a folder - C:\tftpPy> is what I went...

Did I mention I'm not a fan of Hikvision’s TFTP tool. This is my setup and findings: Camera and PC connected to a Tenda 4 port PoE switch. I suspect the reason mine failed was the digicap.dav file size. I believe there is a 32MB file size limit. Camera is bricked and won't come up in SADP...

The camera does not need an IP assigned. It will default to 192.0.0.64 or 192.168.1.64 depending on the model/firmware. Trick is to get the server IP set correctly. Try the server at 192.0.0.128 first. It's been a while since I used Hik's TFTP app, I'll try refresh my memory later this afternoon...

Hikvision Password Reset - Do It Yourself

No doubt dealing with Hikvision can be frustrating and occasionally a dead-end when it comes to resetting passwords. However, there is a security concern regarding the veracity with who you are helping in the forum. Without a doubt the majority of requests are from genuinely frustrated people...

Hikvision TFTP tool is outdated. The readme is not accurate either. You don't need to rename the file, you can leave it as digicap.dav. Depending on which firmware the camera is on, the server could be set to 192.0.0.128 or 192.168.1.128. Use a regular Ethernet cable and a PoE injector. Please...

    Network Unreachable Hikvision

One other possibility comes to mind but it comes with a few ifs. Please confirm: The cameras are R6 series Do you have a PoE injector? A cursory look at release notes didn't mention restrictions on loading earlier firmware. It might be possible to load v5.4.1 or earlier in the hopes the camera...
