It's sort of set up as a drip loop as it stands now. The connections enters the box jenction from the bottom all my cameras are set up this way. If I were to swap this cam with another working cam and see what happens maybe I could get to the bottom of this and this and prove one of the cams...

Correct! Yes this is correct a straight verticle run around 2 meters or so then into the loft through a hole. No bends or kinks the only thing is I used around 4 cable ties around the drainpipe so it doesn't snag.

Sorry its a 4 bnc connected dvr and 1 of the 4 bnc's have stopped working. Both ip cams are not connected to DVR only to a separate poe switch.

Hi, Its a DS-7204HGHI-F1 4Ch also has 1 ip cam connected via a poe switch which is recording onto the dvr. All was working fine until I installed an additional ip poe cam with its own storage connected to the same poe switch.

Thank you for your response they are both very good options. I think I'll go with option 2 for the mean time and in the future I'll upgrade the dvr and use the old hard drive. Thanks again. Tek

Hi. Looking at buying this Hikvision bullet camera model DS-2CD1041-I the add says it can take sd cards but after watching a video of it on YouTube I couldn't see where the card slots in as it's usually at the bottom isn't it? Could someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you Tek

Yes that's correct I installed the switch where the dvr is setup. All working fine now apart from one issue. Switch not providing power. The next step is to get to the bottom of this. I will try a process of elimination and but a better quality poe switch. I've already tried the cables used a...
