Milesight VCA with third party cameras.

I've just checked the Milesight NVRs we have here in the office that has some Hikvision cameras connected via NVIF and unfortunately, a pop-up appears when I try and set up motion detection on the ONVIF cameras. So I think that only basic continuous recording is possible for ONVIF cameras...

    Night footage

No, the IR is reaching the rest of the scene it is just the automatic sensitivity adjustment of the sensor is making the rest of the scene so dark you can't actually see the IR. Moving the camera will give you the best results but if you need to see the wall then you will need to play around...

Milesight VCA with third party cameras.

Yes, the Milesight system will support ONVIF cameras, but be aware that as ONVIF is a universal standard there will be features specific to certain cameras (Smart compression CODECs, Smart Events, etc...) that you will not be able to use when connecting to the NVR using ONVIF.

    Night footage

Which exact Hikvision Bullet models do you have? The issue is probably that you have too much wall in the scene, the camera's sensor adjusts to stop the brightest parts of the scene from overexposing and to that it makes the sensor less sensitive to light which makes the rest of the scene even...

    SD Card stops working

Not a problem we've heard before, especially with this camera model, which brand of MicroSD are you using? Is your camera on the latest firmware? The latest firmware is v5.6.2

    Hik camera down

The installer should not have control of your system after they have finished, they may set it up with their own passwords but they should give you these passwords when they finish the setup and then you should change them to keep your network secure. It may be the case if they never gave you...

Tool for Infra Red Whited License Plate

If your camera supports WDR or HLC (High Light Compensation) then we would recommend enabling these settings as they will help reduce the glare from the license plates, but at the same time, these settings will make the rest of the scene darker. Reading numberplates is a specialist job and there...

    Hik camera down

We wouldn't be able to recommend any specific companies that could help you but we would probably recommend getting someone in to help you reset the system, when looking for an installer key things to check for are that they regularly install IP CCTV systems and are not just specialist in analog...

    Hik camera down

Hi @Trev Which camera models do you have? Have you activated the Hikvision cameras using SADP on a PC? Hikvision cameras require some setup with the SADP tool on a PC/Mac to activate them before you can use them. You will not be able to set up your Hikvision cameras with just the Hik-connect...

PROBLEM TO CONNECT EXIER CAMERA MODEL DS-2CD1043G0-1

Most Hikvision cameras no longer have a default password for security reasons, if the camera was connected to your NVR straight out the box then it will likely have been activated with the same password as the NVR. If that doesn't work then you will have to follow the password reset instructions...

PROBLEM TO CONNECT EXIER CAMERA MODEL DS-2CD1043G0-1

You need to install Hikvision's own SADP Tool to scan your network for the device.

Local LAN IP address when connected to NVR?

Correct, when cameras are directly connected to the NVRs PoE ports they have to use the NVRs Subnet IP range (192.168.254.xxx) but you can access directly connected cameras individually using Hikvision's Virtual Host feature.

New Intercom 2nd Generation + NVR POE 7608ni/k2

In regards to your first point, as far as we are aware those video/audio distributors were only required with the 1st generation intercom systems, Hikvision's documentation for the 2nd generation range has no mention of these specialist switches and only shows basic PoE switches -...

PROBLEM TO CONNECT EXIER CAMERA MODEL DS-2CD1043G0-1

It is not a camera or NVR we have ever dealt with, if the cameras don't have a reset button you will need to connect the camera to a PoE switch/Injector, log in with a browser, and hard reset the camera from within the cameras Maintenance settings. If you don't know the password of your camera...

Him connect says offline after changing broadband supplier

Hikvision does have a Batch Config Tool that will let you update multiple cameras at once but make sure you identify which cameras use which firmware because if you have a mix of cameras they might not all use the same firmware and won't be able to update them all at once. Sometimes when you...

Both the turret models I linked you to earlier are IP67-rated weatherproof which is pretty much the highest rating you can get. (there are a few specialist cameras with IP68 and above but these are expensive and designed for locations where water is constant or the camera is actually submerged a...

    NVR i Firmware V4.22.000 Build 190821

Our Hikvision contact has responded, they are not aware of why the firmware appears to have been reuploaded yesterday but they have provided me with the release notes for the firmware.

    NVR i Firmware V4.22.000 Build 190821

Thanks for pointing this out to us, another forum user had found it a few weeks ago on the download portal and started a thread - Latest HikVision Firmware [76 77 96 NI-I] V4.22.000 build190821 The date next to the firmware does state yesterdays date but the firmware appears to be the same one...

The limitations of the CPU are not something I know anything about but if the specs say up to 40 cameras can be supported then I think 4 or 5 cameras even at 8MP resolution shouldn't be a problem. The majority of the processing happens camera side and once it reaches the NAS it is already...
