We got a Hickvivion NVR (DS-7716NI-14B) From spyCameraCCTV and was told we could backup using FTP, which was a lie. I am therefore looking for an alternative.
We are using it to record performances at a festival. We are using around 10 cameras (but may go to 15/20 next year). The NVR worked...
Interesting. Still think this must be deliberate. If the software is properly written network drives and real drives look the same to windows. Ive never found a piece of software that has this problem.
Why they allow the software to be set up with a network drive is also a mystery. Also my...
OK, got it working, maybe...
I added the NASandformated it. It took a while and put a load of MP4 files on the NAS.
But non of them actually play and mediainfo does not indicate they are video files.
what are they and how can I use them?
Does it delete everything from it? Also once formatted can I access the NAS share from other computers on the network or is it creating some type of proprietory filesystem?
Lastly, once it is initilised does all footage then get automatically save to it? The NetHDD is setup on the NVR and I...
Our supplier will not confirm if it should work or not, they have been 'investigating' or a cope fo days.
If the software does not backup to network drives this would require hickvivion to deliberately add code to stop this. To a program, a network drive and a local drive look the same.
I realize Remote Backup is to backup from NVR (i.e. the remote bit is the NVR) but where it backups to should not matter as long as it is a drive the computer running it has access to it. The network drive is a window shared drive (actually using samba running on a Linux box). The computer has...
From what I can gather I set storage in NVR (to say when I want to record) but the NVR seems to have reduced functionality of motion (i.e. no-expert). Can I set storage/motion in NVR and set the expert parameters in the camera?
Real shame. We are constantly tweaking settings as we are using them to record a few stages at a festival in Panama. The NVR is in a sealed air-conditioned server cabinet (sue to heat and high humidity here). So don't want to risk a reboot;(.
Shame the software is so flaky.
There are fairly similar configuration pages on the NVR and Camera for the above and I am trying to work out which I should be using.
There is no audio tab on the NVR so I tend to change the Audio/Video and Image settings on the NVR but the relationship seems a bit random.
For example, if I...
Hi, I use Hikvisoin NVR and IP cameras. If I change the camera to one configured with the same IP will it record as though it was the same camera (or will it create a new camera in the playback section)? I could also call it the same camera name?
