Hi I am looking to get a couple of cameras to start off and I am stuck at the first hurdle 1 camera or 2 for the same view but a longer range. So I live in an upstairs flat and only have 1 door at the side of the building, this door is up 6 steps from ground level and in the centre of the wall which is 7m long, I have a path running up the side of the building just under 2m wide. At the front of the house I park my car which is <2m wide and I would need to cover 6m in length.
So do I try for a camera fixed at the rear corner looking up the path past the door and then out past the car or is this too long a distance, I have low powered street lights either side of my building so ambient light not great.
And if you can help me with this can you also recommend equipment?
Thanks

Thanks for the photos and explanation.
You're not going to be able to place a single camera that covers bot the camera and the car well.

I'd suggest a small VR dome with a 2.8mm lens adjacent to the front door:
Hikvision DS-2CD2555FWD-I 5MP Mini Dome Network Camera
OR
Milesight UI-5D73-PCV 5MP Vandal Resistant Mini Dome Network Camera

For you car, a 4mm turret or dome camera on your front wall:
Hikvision DS-2CD2355FWD-I 5MP Turret Network Camera
OR
As your car is very close and IR distance will not be a problem, either of the models mentioned for your door again.

You may need mounting brackets, depending on how & where you fix the camera / make your cable connection.
You can use an NVR, or record to memory cards in the cameras.

The turret camera does not have a built-in microphone, the others do.
