Adding extra cameras to one channel

I have a company that has one outdoor camera running back to the DVR with a coaxial cable. It's connected to video channel 1

Now I need to add 2 more cameras but without running the cables back to the DVR as it is quite a bit of a run. So is there any way that I can add additional cameras looping from the existing camera? Maybe splitters, etc l, I'm not sure how it works. The existing camera has a power cable and bnc cable.

If not, is there an easier option that would do the job? Upgrading the DVR and cameras are also an option but which one and how can I do it with the existing single coaxial cable? Bare in mind it's not a WiFi cctv system

Hi @Kahil

As it is an analogue system, the only way to add cameras to the DVR is to have them directly connected via coax, I'm afraid.

You would need an IP CCTV system to add the cameras without a direct cable connection to the recorder. However, it would mean swapping the existing camera and DVR for an IP camera and NVR. You could then connect the camera to your LAN (e.g. into your router/network access point), and then add it to the NVR by using it's IP address so that it can find the camera on your network.

You used to be able to get a product called a Duo-Link that would enable you to run two co-ax cameras over one co-ax cable.
We're all-IP these days, but maybe search around for that product and see where it leads you

Also how is it installed? From the DVR side or from the cctv then looped to another cctv? Thanks

Yes, SNT, that is correct.

If I recall correctly, you would use a pair of those.
One at the camera end, combining two camera signals into one co-ax.
One at the system end splitting the signal from the single co-ax back to two cables.
Please bear in mind that I have only worked with IP cameras for the last twelve years.
You would do better to speak to them, or one of their partners / resellers.
