Hi Friends,
we have a Hikvision DS-2XS6A25G0-I/CH20S40 Solar Panel Kit, with a Li battery (2S-2FSCH30).
The battery was sent in an individual box, not with the camera. And this box included something that looks like an adapter (see photos). The reseller didnt know what that was (your advice was "dont use it"). So my doubts are:

1.- Do you think its an "adapter" for charging the battery?
2.- If nº 1 is yes, why the voltage and amperage from the adapter is upper the necesary for the camera? (camera 12V-0.33 A, adapter 18V-1.8A)

Thanks!
Sergio

Hi Sergio,
it Is probably for charging the battery during persistent daytime cloudy weather. What voltage is the battery?

Hi David,
yes seems for use in cloudy days... the label on the battery box is attached.... I think is 10.8 V and 12.6V.

Do you think is ssecure to charge the battery with this adapter?
Thanks
Sergio

Sergio,
can you speak to your supplier? The charger output voltage is 18Vdc and the battery maximum voltage is 12Vdc. It’s possible that the 18V is regulated down to charge the battery.

Sergio,
in wind solar charger systems you can usually connect an external charger to the solar / wind charge controller.

Thanks for your help David, I will to try charge the battery by the adapter and a charger I bought...

I have search more about the adapter and found it is an adapter for the hikvision battery charger KPL-060N-VI.
But it is to charge battery Hikvision TYN1220S, not for my battery, thats a different model (DS-2FSCH30).
REgardding technical specifications of bagtteries, the only difference between them is Ah: TYN1220S is 20Ah and mine battery is 30Ah.
The last question I'd like to ask you is: Do you think I could use TYN battery adapter for my DS battery?
I hope you can understand me english, and what I want to said...thanks.
Thanks in advance,
Sergio

If the only difference is 20 or 30 Ah then it should be fine.
