My neighbour wants to install a camera at his entrance gates which are 300 yards from his house. He has electricity at the gate, if needed. What would be his best solution? I've been looking at POE with repeaters, wi-fi with repeaters, fibre-optic cable and long-range burial grade coaxial. He currently has no CCTV system at all. TIA.

Having looked at fiberoptic cable and Unify long-range extenders, I'm favouring Dahua's ePOE system which can deliver CCTV POE video up to 800 yards over a single cable without any other boosters.

We have successfully used the Ligowave (formerly Deliberant) wireless bridges across farms and large sites.
The full kit includes both ends, the mounts and POE injectors.
About £250 +VAT from memory.
Needs line of sight.
Saves on a lot of labour and installation of long cables.

Interesting product, phil. Unfortunately, the neighbour's farm is down dip from the gate so line of sight - even from a mast - isn't an option.
