Camera not appearing/activating on screen

Hi,

I have 4 Hikvision cameras linked to my Hikvision recorder.

One of these connects directly from the camera to the Recorder via Ethernet, the other 3 connect to a switch in my shed via Ethernet and then the switch is connected via a 40m Ethernet cable to the recorder.

The individual connection and 2 of the 3 other cameras are displayed on the recorder but the 3rd of the 3 does not.

The one that is having the problem is 192.168.254.2 (I think) but the settings seem to match all of the others.

I have tested the Ethernet between the recorder and the switch and it flows 1-8 fine. I have also tested the Ethernet between the switch and the individual camera and this flows 1-8 fine.

The only differences that I can see are that the 3 working cameras are device type ending in I whereas this ‘non working’ camera ends in I/G and the Software Version is more recent.

I have attached a few photos which may help someone to point me in the right direction.

Many Thanks,
Steve

The cameras in the shed (connected to the switch) actually need to be manually configured with general LAN IP addresses and then added to your NVR manually.
Wire them as they need to be (as above).
Scan with SADP.
Select each in turn in SADP and allow DHCP to provide the camera with an available IP address, then toggle DHCP off in SADP (so that the camera remains at that fixed IP address).
Then log into the NVR using Internet Explorer - go to Configuration -> Camera Management and add each of those three cameras to your NVR manually using its IP address.

Your SADP scan screenshot seems to show two NVRs - top & bottom of the list.
Check their Network Settings.
Enter your router's network IP address in the field that Hikvision label as Gateway.
And make sure that you have a value entered in the DNS settings fields; most people use Google's DNS servers:
Primary 8.8.8.8
Secondary 8.8.4.4

BTW - For the sake of a more complete answer; Hikvision's -I NVR range, when running V4 firmware, do allow you to add cameras via a switch connected to a camera port:

When you have plugged the camera, which is in the PoE-Switch, first directly to the NVR, then you only have to go to the IP Adress of the camera in the camera config, then click on edit and change plug&play to manual. Reenter the password and then it should work.

Thanks folks.

I managed to bring it back online by tracking down a screenshot of the camera IP addresses which I took when it was installed just over 2 years ago, altering the IP of the ‘missing’ camera to its original, entering (what I think was) the original password and applying the settings.

I’m really pleased to have restored it and appreciate your assistance.

Steve
