Customer has replaced his old NVR with a newer model (DS-7716NI-I4-16P).
He does not recall the user name and password for the old NVR (Hikvision DS-7716NI-E4-16P ).
The old NVR will have passed its credentials to all of the connected cameras i.e. the user name and password for each cameras is as per the old NVR.
Because we do not know their user name and password, the new NVR cannot connect to them.
Therefore each camera will need to be reset.
The cameras are all older models, none have reset buttons.
All are Hikvision cameras.
The customer has a single port POE injector available - any IEEE802.3af/at POE injector will do (or a switch).
Each camera will need to be disconnected from the new NVR and powered via the POE injector, then be reset to inactive.
They can then be connected to the new NVR in their inactive state, and will be activated and issued a new user name & password by the new NVR.
As we don't know the camera's password, a reset file will need to be requested from Hikvision for each camera (in this case there are thirteen).
As the cameras have not been updated for some time it would also be wise to update each to the latest firmware whilst it is connected to the POE injector.

- Connect each Hikvision camera in turn to the single-port POE injector.
- Reset its password - see below for detailed steps. NB Each camera must remain powered-up until you receive and reset its password (the password/device verification process uses the device's power-on time & date).
- Once you have a working password - leave it connected to the single-port injector; use SADP to "Enable DHCP" (tick box at the top of the RHS fly-out); enter the password and select 'Modify'.
- The camera should now be accessible at a valid LAN IP address, so please use Internet Explore and login (with the password set at 2. above.
- Check and update the firmware as per the detailed nine steps guide linked below.
- Once you have updated the camera to the latest available firmware from the portal, then please reset the camera to default.
- After resetting it to default it should now appear as 'inactive' in SADP.
- You can now disconnect the camera from the single-port POE injector and connect it to the desired NVR camera port (the final one - do not connect it to one, then another).
- The NVR should activate and add the camera automatically.
- SADP will not show any cameras that are directly connected to an NVR. You can use Virtual Host to see and individually access direct-connected cameras.
