Can i set up my 7600 series NVR on a laptop?

As soon as my hdd arrives I will go through the set up via the guide on here.
I have a couple of pre advise questions though. As I will be using my TV via hdmi and not a monitor. Can I see link it via hdmi to my laptop to set it up. Then once don't take the hdmi from the laptop and plug it into my TV?

Also when I do the search for ports not in use. Should it say destination host unreachable if its available to use?

Hi @Vauxfan

If you are connecting your TV via HDMI to the NVR you can just plug the USB mouse into the NVR and set it up via the TV, you can then either leave the mouse there or unplug it and only plug it back in when you use the NVR.

(If you are setting up purely via the HDMI monitor you can simply enable DHCP for the NVR to automatically find an available address, just make sure to disable DHCP after an address has been assigned because if you leave it enabled the address can change when the NVR reboots/shutdowns)
