Compatibility between Cameras and NVR's

Hi

What's the view on compatibility between NVR"s and cameras? Is it just a matter of making sure both support for example H.265?

Should the Hikvision DS-2CD2087G2-LU be compatible with any H.265 NVR?

I'm looking at pairing it with an Annke 8ch 6MP NVR SKU: N48PBB

Simply we would not recommend using an advanced Hikvision camera like the above model with a non-Hikvision NVR.

If you do you will likely have to add the camera using the universal ONVIF standard which lets you access the basic features of the camera (e.g. live view, recording, playback) but more advanced camera-specific features like smart events and AcuSense features will not be supported.

We would recommend using a 2087G2-LU with a DS-7608NI-I2/8P 8-channel NVR if you want access to all the functionality of the camera.
