Hi @isma

The 4425 PTZ is not primarily designed for ANPR installs so there are minimal settings you can adjust that will counteract this issue you are seeing.

The only thing we could recommend would be to enable HLC (High Light Compensation) in the camera's image settings which will reduce the effect of bright light sources like the headlights, but potentially it may make the rest of the scene and the numberplates darker.

Thanks Admin.
yes HLC helps but as you said it makes dark.
could you please suggest HIKvision camera which is suitable for this purpose.
(Day and Night )
(i am using python script to recognize plate numbers...)

Hi @isma

The only Hikvision camera we can recommend for ANPR is their dedicated ANPR Bullet (DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZS) because this camera features a unique hardware & software setup to allow reliable plate reads both day and night.

The one thing you have to be aware of, whether your camera is designed for ANPR or not, is that to achieve clear & reliable plate reads at night the cameras sensor sensitivity has to be reduced to remove the glare off the shiny surface of the plates. The downside of the camera doing this is that it makes the rest of the scene very dark which is why we often make it clear to people who want ANPR that to get the best results from an ANPR camera you need to be using it only for ANPR and if you need any other coverage of the scene you will need to install 2nd non-ANPR camera.

If you scroll to the bottom of this ANPR Forum guide you will see a screenshot of the type of night image you get from a true ANPR camera like the 7A26.
