Error Message on motion detection with Dahua cameras connected to my Hikvision NVR?

Hi guys, I am having problems setting up the motion detection settings with my Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR. I keep getting an error message when I try to enable the motion detection in the Event / Normal Event menu. In fact I can not seem to change any settings in the Normal Event menu. I am using four Dahua IPC-HDW2831TM-AS-S2 cameras and have tried selecting a different one each time but still the same error message. I have also tried performing a full factory reset on the NVR but still the same outcome. Does anyone have any suggestions as I am struggling ?

Maybe its because you using not hikvision cameras. Did you use the ONVIF Protocol?

You could try to login to the cameras directly using the virtual host feature, and this should allow you to set the motion detection directly on the camera.
