HikVision have made it possible to export recorded footage via either a DVD drive that is installed on the device, a USB port or an eSATA port. For this demonstration we are using a DVD. This is a very useful feature as it allows users to keep a physical copy of footage, as a back up, for archiving or to pass onto others to inspect i.e. the police.

We suggest you use a DVD-R with at least 4 GB of space.

Insert the disk into the disk slot on the DS-7708NI.

Now on your HikVision, right click and select ‘Main Menu’.

You may be prompted to login. Once you have logged in, you will be presented with the main menu page. From here click ‘Export’.

The export page will load. To the left you have three options: Normal, Event and Picture. For the purposes of this demonstration we will be using the 'Normal' option. At the top of the screen you will see check boxes with options of ‘D1’, ‘D2’, ‘D3’ ect; these are your cameras that you are able to export from. We will just be exporting from camera one so we will uncheck all the other cameras. (Note: You can only export 4 cameras simultaneously.) Now select the time and date you would like to export footage from. (Note you can only export up to 24hrs worth at once.)

Once you have selected all your options, click the button in the bottom left which says ‘Quick Export’.

Now you can choose what device to export to. We are using a disk but you can also export to a USB device or a eSATA drive.

Once you have chosen what device to export to, click ‘Export’. From this same window you can erase any films that are already on the device. When you first export to a device, the HikVision will automatically also export a video player, which you will require to view the footage.

Your footage will now start to export.

You will be prompted once the export is complete and your disk drive will open.
