I cannot for the life of me see the section in the firmware which turns on Face Detection in this covert camera.

The data sheet clearly mentions this feature - as well as Vehicle Detection.
When I click the FIRMWARE button on the product site it is empty.
I'm using V5593 (190528).
The manual is very generic and is not of much help unfortunately.
I know the /F1 version has a custom firmware for ANPR but it doesn't work for this one.

Have you enabled h.265+?

Have you enabled h.265+?

No, not at all. I know that using h256+ causes strain on the CPU and stops several smart features from working.

I'm also trying to find the older firmware in case Face Detection was removed or something.

Hi @Starstreak

Face Capture/detection usually requires you to change the VCA Resource of the camera, see these firmware release notes for another model which shows where you switch the VCA resource.

There is NO SIGN whatsoever on the firmware about FACE DETECTION anywhere! It has all the rest, including line crossing, object removal etc (lots of them) but nothing about faces or vehicles.

I tried upgrading to V5598 (200410) but still nothing. Now it won't downgrade to V5592. Not sure why!

Hi @Starstreak

where did you get this firmware from?
Did you check for a VCA resource page as shown in the release notes I linked above?
