Hi all, I have three Hik camera's all are showing no video I was seeing if anything could be done via the Hik connect app when I got a text from Ezviz asking me to input a verification code I went back to my Hik connect app and put the verification code in but it would not accept the code . Is there any way I can get a new code as this one has expired and any help to get my camera's up and running would be of great help
Thanks.

Hi @Trev

Which camera models do you have?

Have you activated the Hikvision cameras using SADP on a PC? Hikvision cameras require some setup with the SADP tool on a PC/Mac to activate them before you can use them. You will not be able to set up your Hikvision cameras with just the Hik-connect app as you need to activate each camera with a unique password (can be the same for all of them just can't be a weak default one like 'Hik1234') and then you need to log in with a browser to enable Hik-connect/P2P in the camera's settings.

Hi Dan firstly many thanks for the reply. I brief history but to cut it short. A company came down and installed cctv couple of .months ago worked fine but now all are not working. All they told me to do was go on hik app with my login details etc. I have rang the company countless times without success so my next stop will probably a more legal approach. At the moment I just want them working.
So as you say I need a unique password for each camera which the company will have. Could I get a more reputable company to do a re set up to get them going again? As you will be aware cctv is not my ball park so I'm at a bit of a loss.
Regards.

We wouldn't be able to recommend any specific companies that could help you but we would probably recommend getting someone in to help you reset the system, when looking for an installer key things to check for are that they regularly install IP CCTV systems and are not just specialist in analog CCTV because they are 2 completely different levels of knowledge. Also, look for installers that are labeled as 'Authorised Hikivision Installers/partners'

If you want to have a go at resetting the cameras and setting up the system yourself then our Hikvision megathread will help you through all the basic steps - [Tutorial Megathread] Getting Started With Your Hikvision System

Thanks again Dan.
As far as I'm aware the company said they are 2mp hikvision cameras and apparently they are hikvision cameras.
So a reputable company could be approached for a re set and I look for authorised hikvision installers/ partners. That's great thanks. As I say when I'm up and running I intend to try and recover the loss from this company.
Regards.

Ps. Just thinking. Could this company have anything to do with them all of a sudden going off as they have the software. All I got was the hik app but i i putted my own password.

The installer should not have control of your system after they have finished, they may set it up with their own passwords but they should give you these passwords when they finish the setup and then you should change them to keep your network secure. It may be the case if they never gave you the camera password then they could have changed the camera passwords or the verification code at a later date without telling you and this could have broken the remote P2P link stopping you viewing the cameras. It may also be just a genuine fault that has occurred in the setup somewhere and it has nothing to do with the original installer, but you will need a PC and the camera passwords to access the cameras and identify the problem. Hard reset the cameras and get a new installer in to set the system up properly, make sure the new installer gives you the passwords to the camera when they set the system up and that they explain how you can change the password after they have finished.
