Hi, after a bit of help, I have a hikvision setup on my house. A couple of cameras the image in the night has gone really poor. So I bought a new camera to replace one. The model of camera that I had on my system is no longer made, so I was told that I needed the replacement newer model.
To cut the story short, I thought it would be simple to just replace the camera and plug the new one in and it would work, but it hasn’t..

Any advice on making it work would be much appreciated

I have attached 5 photos of what’s going off

Hi @Matt holmes

It is likely a password issue, the new 2145 camera has security features built-in which now requires the camera to be activated with a strong password and if the NVRs password/activation password is the old Hikvision default password (12345 or 123456) or you have set a weak password (the password needs to feature at least 3 of 4 following - uppercase, lowercase, numbers, special characters) then the new camera will not be activated by the NVR. See more about this issue in the below thread:

The easiest solution to this problem is to change the NVRs activation password by going to Maintenance > System Services > IP camera Activation and change the NVRs activation password to something strong, once you have done that unplug and then plug the camera back in and it should activate with the new password.

If the camera still does not connect after this can you tell us what error message you are getting when you click the yellow warning symbol next to the camera in the device list?

Hi, I know it’s been a long time but I still can’t get my new camera to work.
We have updated the firmware.
Changed the admin password to one uppercase letter, 3 lowercase letters and 4 numbers.
The camera password has been changed to the same password as my admin password. One upper, 3 lower and 4 numbers.
Once we then add the camera to my system, input the new camera password it is still coming up with an error message..

Will attach photos of error message, and my system details.

thanks for any help
