Hi

I am considering purchasing the following:-

Hikvision 4" DS-2DE4425IW-DE(S5) 4MP AcuSense 25x Zoom 100m IR PTZ
with a corner bracket

Hikvision DS-1602ZJ-CORNER Wall Mount Corner Bracket

This will be with a

Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2-8P 8 Channel Network Video Recorder

I understand that more power is needed for the PTZ and I am now trying to understand what I would need with the above set up. With the 8 channel NVR, the other 7 channels would be turret 4mp cameras (coloru, acusense).

Would I need a switch and an POE injector with the PTZ, or am I misunderstanding the requirements?
Thanks

Hi @CCTVRONNIE

If you want to directly connect the PTZ to your NVR that shouldn't be a problem, the 7608 NVR supports PoE+ (802.3at) Standard which means each port has a max. output of 30W, the 4425 PTZ is PoE+ and has a max. power draw of 24W.

The only thing you have to be aware of is PoE budget of the NVR's PoE ports, the NVR can deliver a max. 120W PoE output so if you are planning to fully load the NVR with multiple PoE+/PTZ devices you may see issues with overloading the PoE budget, if you don't want to plug the camera directly into the NVR then you would need to use a PoE+ Injector with the camera.
