SADP stands for Search Active Devices Protocol.

SADP is a Hikvision software utility available for Windows PCs and Apple Macs to help you perform the basic setup steps needed to activate a Hikvision camera or NVR, and to help with other functions such as password resets.

Full details here:
Hikvision's SADP Tool - updated 4th December 2018

The above article includes information on where to find the latest version of SADP (for PC & Mac), and how to use it to request a password reset file, plus tutorial videos.

Phil,

In the linked thread, point #15 states: "It will not show cameras which are directly connected to your NVR - only those devices on the same network as your PC (within the same domain range)."

So I take it that SADP would be useless for plug & play Hikvision cameras directly connected to the NVR? If that is the case, where would one find the additional camera settings that SADP allows for? Does the NVR GUI have those?

All of the MAC downloads have bpEn and zxEn versions. They are different. Whats the difference?

Specifically if you goto the page here:

HIKVISION UK PORTAL

then you will see the two directoroes, bpEn and zxEn. Below both those directories is the same file name: SADPTool.pkg.zip but its a slightly different size.
