How to add a Hikvision DS-2CD2142FWD-1 camera to the Ezviz X5C NVR?

I would like to connect my Ezviz X5C NVR to the Hikvision DS-2CD2142FWD-1 camera so that it can record and store video, but I have been unable to do so. The camera is detected in the Ezviz desktop app, but it asks for a password, but no passwords work. I am able to view the video, but I am unable to link this camera to the NVR.

Is there a way to connect these 2 devices? Would help me keep all my hikvision cameras on one NVR and keep my life saner

We have no experience with that NVR.
Does it have setup pages where you can manually add a camera; by stating the camera's IP address on your LAN, and providing a user name and password.
It may be worth trying the ONVIF option.

Somebody may drop by who has achieved it ...
