Hikvision have released new firmware for their I-Series Network Video Recorders. The latest firmware, Version 4.22.005, can be downloaded here.

NB - you may need to refresh your browser when viewing the Hikvision portal to see the newly added version at the bottom of the list.

The Release Notes are attached.

The last couple of pages of the release notes specify the applicable NVRs.

Reason for Upgrade:
  • To add new features and optimize product performance.
  • To support up to 32MP cameras.
  • To support 802.1x protocol authentication
  • To solve some known issues and enhance product stability

No, sorry, we used to keep on top of all the new releases and make a fresh Post in our Forum clearly leading people to what is THE latest version, but for various reasons we lapsed.
I asked Kyle to bring these Posts up to date.
So, it is a new Post, but as you say the firmware was released some months ago.

Just noticed that there has been a release of some sort of firmware for the I-Series Yesterday. V4.22.005_200104

In the folder for V4.22.005_191208 then in a sub folder named "64-I series auto database repairing version"

Thanks for pointing this out :) looks like a kind of build update rather than a full firmware version update, probably to address some bug that was being reported. Nothing to say what changed have actually been made which is a shame.

Let us know how you get on with it though and any observations you make!

Hi
In the V4.22.005_191208 is a new sub folder named "line crossing issue on web browser fixed version"
inside is new build from last week V4.22.005_200327. (file size increased by few MB)

just recived my nvr and cams and was routing for the latest updates (as you do..)

Hello

So the new sub folder named "line crossing issue on web browser fixed version" is the most up date firmware. Hope this helps

Just this morning installed this V4.22.005_191208 and a complete new look.

Really impressed with the new menu but did take a while to complete the install.

Anyone upgrading give it time to complete, more than you would expect. ;)

Just had a weird / horrible thought run through my mind.
As quoted in my previous post above I installed V4.22.005_191208 to my NVR and it is working perfect.

My model number is 8MP DS-7608NI-K2/8P Hikvision - 8 Channel NVR 2 Bay

Have I installed the correct firmware.??

If not please direct me to the correct firmware.

Many thanks. :)

Hi Guys,

Can you please help what is the latest firmware available for my NVR?
It is an AcuSense DS-7608NXI-I2 / 4S, as I see it is not a full i-series device. Device has OEM V4.1.17 build 190911 firmware on it by default.
Can I use firmware for i-series? Or there is a difference in hardware and I should stick with 4.1.17?

Thanks

We have seen it and I have installed it on our demo 7716-I4 NVR but there do not appear to be any glaringly obvious changes. I have emailed our Hikvision Support contact and asked them to provide us with the release notes.

I’ve update for those wondering My 7708NI I4, noobvious issue as yet except for with ANPR, but searching appears faster, a lot of the graphics have been smooth over and has a slightly nicer feel with slightly different menus.

As for ANPR I will try and upload photos. The preview on the events window on the left or whatever it’s called now has a view zoomed very close in on the Reg plate and on some some it misses the photo of the Reg altogether on the preview maybe showing the door or road however it does pick up on the text side, In searches and the video when you play the event back is still fine, an slightly annoying bug.

Sorry for the grammar, I’m terrible walking on a phone

Last one as I have made it look worse than it was. Maybe it learns as it’s working better now

Hi @Paulwiggie

As mentioned above I have installed the latest v4.40 firmware on our demo NVR and Hikvision support has informed us that this firmware is meant to include improvements for Mac browser access. I have tried viewing the NVR from our office Mac and I could not see a massive difference, but I am running an older version of macOS so I asked my colleague with a more up to date macOS to test it and he reported that the streaming/playing back appeared smoother with the new update but there does appear to be some key settings/features still missing.

I am still waiting for the official release notes from Hikvision and while we wait I will try and update my office Mac to the latest macOS this week and check for any improvements my self, once I've done that and have the release notes I will create a new thread for this latest firmware.
