Network Video Recorder DS-7608NI-K2/8P - only three out of eight cameras recording events?

I live in the UK and have just purchased a Network Video Recorder DS-7608NI-K2/8P and 8 x 8MP AcuSense Fixed Turret Cameras (Model DS-2CD2386G2-IU

I have set up all the cameras to record on event rather than continuous but I’ve noticed only 3 out of the 8 record. I’ve checked the settings are exactly the same as the ones recording but it still not working. When I switch from Event to Continuous, all the cameras record fine. Any advice please why this may be the case?

Also the Network Video Recorder DS-7608NI-K2/8P is very noisy as if a fan is constantly on. Is this normal for this model?

Hi @Nezer007

Could you share a screenshot of the event settings and the recording schedule for one of the cameras that aren't recording on events, please?

Have you set the recording schedule the same as described for your events here?

Make sure that you have the event's arming schedule set properly too, shown in step 4 here:

Hi. Thanks for your reply. The first 2 images are of the camera settings for the one that does not record on motion.
The 3rd and 4th images are from a camera which does record on motion. I can’t see any difference hence my confusion.

Those are just the recording schedules you're showing. The NVR will record the streams from the cameras during that time period when an event occurs. However first the motion detection event needs to be configured for each of the cameras. Check those settings for each camera in the NVR menu. You should have (for each camera):

- Motion Detection enabled
- In Area - the grid drawn and sensitivity set
- In Arming Schedule - this should be set to continuous (or whatever times you want it to be)
- In Linkage Action - the trigger channel box for the corresponding camera should be ticked (it is by default)

Thank you so much. This has resolved the problem and all the cameras are working ok now.
