I am currently running two Hive cameras but I am impressed with the colour vu cameras. I was thinking of buying one to monitor my drive to compare and run it off Poe & sd card for now.

I was also tempted by a cheaper second hand nvr such as a DS-7604NI-K1/4P. I can see the I series is now recommended but I assume this would do the job?

Are any wireless camera compatible with this nvr as I’m not sure how I would route a cable from the front door to the nvr location. I can run the drive way camera via the loft.

thanks

None of Hikvision's Pro NVRs are wireless-ready.
You add your wireless camera to your router's wi-fi network.
Give the camera(s) a general LAN IP address.
Then manually configure the NVR to add the cameras at those IP addresses.

That’s fine as long as it supports them. Is the PVR above still ok to use?
Thanks

It would be adequate for basic cameras and configurations.
It will struggle with the newest camera technologies.
As a model, it was superseded by a (B) variant with newer hardware a couple of years ago.
We find that the K-series as a whole range receives fewer firmware updates / development than the I-series, and has slightly less capability (CPU/RAM/bandwidth).

We recommend this NVR:
