Hi Everyone. I'm new to all this so be gentle with me.
I'm after a 12 camera system for a non por profit sports club. 6 indoor and 6 outdoor cameras. All need to be PIR, day and night use , with sound, 2 of the outdoor need to recognise number plates.
The indoor cameras want to cover a bar, hallway leading to office and toilets, cellar, and lounge. Outdoor will cover parking at rear of building, patio, and pathways leading to clubhouse.
I'm thinking of using HIkvision cameras, and probably Synology NAS drive for the storage, and with that would I need a DVR?
If I'm lacking information, I'll get back.
But hope you can help

I'd recommend you use something like a Hikvision 7716 NVR.

Unfortunately, for 12 cameras on a Synology NAS (using their Surveillance Station) you'd need to pay for ten camera licences at approx. £40 each.

The Hik NVR will provide power and manage number plates.

For PIR (Passive Infra Red), I think you just mean IR as in infra-red illumination.
PIR is used to detect movement - by body heat.
Very few cameras are available with a PIR detector built-in.
