PC application

Hi
Does anyone know of the least power hungry (on the CPU) desktop PC application for monitoring 3 WiFi security cameras? I don't need/want remote access - just to monitor the cameras and record on motion detection. I am trying out Netcam Studio but it grinds my (oldish) PC into the ground! This creates a server running in the background which seems a bit overkill for what I want.
I know there are loads of websites which "compare" these apps but I don't really trust them as they are mostly on commission and don't always indicate how CPU hungry they are.
Any advice/suggestions would be very welcome...
Mike

It's hard to know how they'll run.
We'd be glad of your feedback if you test.

Blue iris is a popular CCTV software with home users.
Zoneminder is free for Linux operating systems.
There are some forum posts for at least one user testing with a mini NUC computer.

From the software that we sell licences for:
Vivotek VAST is always popular.
Luxriot now offer small camera count solutions.
