I know of schools and universities where their IT technicians have used cat5 cable and (Power Over Ethernet) POE to install whole IP CCTV solutions without any external help.
Next month Videotec plan to launch their 'True POE' external camera housing, where not only is the IP camera fed via POE, but even the housing heater can be supplied via POE.
