Morning all, relocating few cables and its going to be easier to connect to a switch first then put the cams on the nvr through the ip address's

The switch ive got has two additional ports uplink and nvr, pretty sure i just need to use the uplink to connect to the router and same for nvr., But what would i use the nvr port for on the switch?

Thanks

This doesn't ring any bells i.e. I cannot recall ever seeing a switch with a nominated NVR port.
Maybe you could share the make and model number, and/or upload a photo?

Hi @bm_99

This is a very unusual design for a PoE switch, from looking at the datasheet they state that the switch has 2 uplink ports so I think they have just decided to label one of those ports as NVR suggesting that you can connect an NVR to that port while connecting the switch to your local network with the other uplink port. But the NVR port is just another uplink port so technically you could use it for any non-PoE network device.
