Recovery for a re-written clip

How can I recover a lost clip? I Have use some of my recovery software but its not working. Please help.

If the footage has actually been overwritten/re-written by new recordings then the clip/footage is gone because that is how the overwriting process works, once the drive is full it starts erasing the oldest footage to make space for new footage.
