I have conneted the nvr to my laptop which has internet access. Done know if someone knows how to remote view or just run me through whatsapp

I will happily Pay someone for an hour of their time today. I have been at this steady since Friday. I have attached a few shots of what i have going on so far

@Devman ANPR is new to me, just trying to give you some ideas....
have you tried setting up the camera direct using the camera IP address (not via the NVR)?
Are the NVR and camera firmware up to date?
Are any setup or detection lines / windows enabled?
do any detection schedules need to be setup and enabled.

@David appriciate you replying mate as I've been struggling for days to get someone on here to help me. No i haven't tried that as I can't plug direct into a route. Wireless only which I why I connected the dvr to the laptop.

The part where I believe is the section to put the lines in says the camera isn't capable of this. I think it's maybe because in browser it regonises the nvr instead of the camera. As other videos show the model of the camera on yutube. It shows my nvr.

@Devman if your anpr camera cable is connected direct to one of the 8 ethernet ports (bank of 2 x 4 at the rear of the NVR) then you will have to access the camera using the virtual host. If not you can access the camera using its IP address found from the NVR config menu system> camera management> IP camera tab.

@Devman is this for the camera or NVR? for now lets leave settings as they are.

Are you on site with the NVR and camera or off site?

I thought the camera was connected to the NVR and configured for channel D1?

if you know the cameras IP address enter it in the address bar of internet explorer and press enter. http://<IP address here> eg http://192.168.1.1

ok followed that to the (T) and this is what I got when trying to log in @David

@Devman that looks like a private IP address and is no good. do you have the SADP software tool? The software is here HIKVISION UK PORTAL

install and run the tool on your computer that is connected to the same network as your camera. You should see the anpr camera on the network and if it is activated or not. you must activate it before you can go any further. During activation enable DHCP and setup the admin password and security questions. After that sadp should show you the IP address assigned to the camera.

To clarify, the laptop will have to be on the NVR's sub network before that camera will be visible in SADP. If he's on his LAN then only the NVR will show up in SADP.

Yes I believe that's what I did. I will run through it again mate. I've sent over shots from my dvr. Is there anything in network I should enable ???

AHHHHH this sounds like it. How do I do that exactly

@Devman where is your camera connected to? Is it on the nvr subnet or your LAN?

also something looks strange with the DHCP address and subnet mask assigned to the NVR. is the NVR wan port connected to your LAN?

Its connected into the back of the NVR @David and i have the NVR connected to the back of my laptop

@Devman the NVR wan port must connect to your router or to a switch connected to the router the router assigns ip addresses to everything on your net work.

@David Unfortunately i cant hardwire into a wifi router. Is this something i can do just once to assign everything or does it have to be connected to the internet

I am not sure if it will work standalone. For it to work now you will have to connect your laptop to one of the NVR camera ports and assign one of the NVR subnet IP addresses (fixed up) to your laptop NIC.
