MacOS Trying to access live view or playback in a browser on a Mac. Why is it so hard??

I have 6 Hikvision cameras installed. All working nicely to the NVR.
My only issue is that it is so incredibly hard to view the damned images via a browser!
It always has been and now it seems almost impossible?
I would like playback access from the NVR but nothing on the Mac OS seems to work.
The VMS-i4200 is awful and also doesn't show playback for me.

On Windows IE doesn't work and nor does Edge.

They have always had these issues and there doesn't seem to be an easy solution. I think it is time to sell all my Hikvision and find something easier to use in a browser!

Or has someone got a simple solution: playback from NVR in browser?

What NVR and cameras do you have? What firmware are they running?

There have been on & off issue for lots of people when it comes to using modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, etc... on both PCs and Macs but Internet Explorer has pretty much always worked and if you are running the latest version of iVMS-4200 with the NVR added to it you should be able to view the NVR's playback.

Thanks for the reply. I have sort of got it working with the NVR in iVMS-4200.

I can only fast forward at 16x though. Is there a better way to fast forward quicker? I need to go through a lot of video and x16 is too slow!
Could I export or save off the files and use a different app?
