Firmware Upgrading Firmware of DS-7604NI-K1/4P NVR from V3 to V4

I have the DS-7604NI-K14P(B) it's currently on V3.4.112

I'm keen to upgrade to version 4, will upgrading wipe any of my previous data? Intrusion zone/line crossing settings?

Hi @Geordie564

You shouldn't lose anything when updating to v4 firmware, but some glitches/errors can occur when upgrading through multiple versions so we recommend that you update the first v4 firmware (V4.30.000) before then upgrading to the latest v4 firmware (V4.30.085).

Hi Dan,
Would you please advise on problems I have with NVR DS-7604NI-K1 (B) Firmware version V4.30.85, use with 4 camera DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 Firmware version V5.6.800_210628.
1. When I set smart event line crossing detection or intrusion detection with linkage methods PTZ linking (preset), I don't have video recording at all. it moves to preset location but without recording.
2. If I set camera 1 as method above then I couldn't set camera 2 as it always comes back to preset of camera 1 even I saved them every time. attached pictures.
3. When I use web browser to login NVR I have no pictures, no live view I had downloaded plugin for this but still nothing comes up, I used Google Chrome for Web browser.

3. Is there any update for recent security breach? I could not find any for my cameras and NVR.

Answers to your questions are below:

1) Have you set your record schedule for the cameras to record by event? You need to go to Configuration > Storage > Schedule Settings > Record Schedule and set the schedule to be event (usually the purple colour).

2) I don't understand what you mean by "I couldn't set camera 2 as it always comes back to preset of camera 1", can you please explain what you are trying to do in more detail?

3) The K-series NVRs still do not offer full browser support for modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, etc... and so we would still recommend that you access the 7604(B) NVR with Internet Explorer or Hikvision's free VMS - iVMS-4200

Both your cameras and NVR are already running the latest firmware, both firmware versions are already newer than the vulnerable firmware so there is no need to update.

Thank you very much for your quick response and very helpful Dan, what I did was reverse back to older versions V3.... and slowly upgraded every version until I get to latest version V4.30.85. It seems to be ok except for question number 2 . As I set PTZ linking to preset camera number 2 for line crossing detection, in the linkage channel window under PTZ linkage area it always comes back to D1 which is camera number 1 instead D2 camera number 2 as I selected and saved.
