Wipe/Reset/Return a Hikvision NVR?

Hi all,

I got a DS-7608NI-I2/8P recently, or so i thought. I have set it up and linked to HikConnect, etc. but when was trying to set up a smart feature, i realised i had actually been sent a DS-7608NI-K2/8P!
So i now need to return the NVR as new. What is the best way to do this and allow another purchaser to register it, etc. and use default passwords
I was thinking of using somehow using SADP to unbind it, then possibly connect directly to it and perform a factory reset - would that be enough?

Hi @benm

Yes, that's exactly what we do for our open box NVRs before shipping them, so no previous account information is stored on the NVR :)

To unbind the NVR in SADP:

Then, see step 1 here for resetting it to the factory default state:

It is also worth logging into your account on the Hik-Connect Portal, to make sure that the NVR has been removed from the device list.
