Wireless 4channel to 8 channel

Hi all. I have a floureon wireless 4 channel system with built in screen. I have looked on eBay and they now sell 8 channel ones. Everything looks the same even the built in screen. My question is is there different hardware in the unit or is it just software that changes it from 4 channel to 8.

We're not familiar with the brand, but normally we would expect the hardware to increase to be capable of managing more cameras.
