The POI-2002 POE power injector is used to inject power onto a single network data cable being run to a peripheral device such as a network camera. Network peripherals with POE capability built-in will be able to accept the network RJ45 data plug directly into their network socket, and via their built-in POE capability will separate the power and the data feeds within the device. POE can also be used with peripheral devices which do not have POE capability built-in. This is simply achieved by using a POE splitter at the device to separate the data and the power onto separate cables for connection to their respective sockets. LevelOne POI-2002 is a Power over Ethernet Injector with one Ethernet Input (data only) port and one Output (data + power) port that is designed for small or medium network environments. This product can convert standard 100~240V/AC power into lowvoltage DC that runs over existing LAN cable to power up IEEE 802.3af compliant network accessories. It also features PoE awareness to verify whether the network device receiving power is IEEE 802.3af compliant, or only the data will be sent through LAN cable. By adding a PoE Splitter (POS-1002) to existing non-PoE networking equipment, installing networking products such as Access Points and IP cameras can easily be performed. Wireless device deployments are easily located without the need for power outlets and network administrators don’t need to use AC power adapters anymore. * This is a replacement for the POI-2000. V3 Refers to Version 3 There's an explanatory write-up on POE technology in our 'Help & Info' pages. If you are in any doubt, please do not hesitate to call and discuss it with us. Tip: The POI-2002 power over ethernet injector is our best value single-port injector and is suitable for all POE-ready IP cameras requiring up to 15.4 Watts of power (just about all fixed IP cameras i.e. without positioning motors). It is not Gigabit capable, however no single IP camera will use more than the 100Mbps capability of this injector. If you are adding multiple IP cameras it may be more cost effective to select a POE switch . Please also bear in mind that each single-port injector will need a separate 230V mains socket outlet, whereas a POE switch can supply multiple cameras from just one mains socket.

Customer Questions
The datasheet states that the max voltage is 52v, does this device negotiate with 802.3af devices that only require 5 or 12v and then deliver the required voltage.

Hello sireel, Yes, pretty much as you say. The 52V DC is just the carrier voltage used to enable POE to deliver power via network cables to the nominal maximum distance of 100m. When that voltage arrives at the network connection of a POE-enabled ...

Will this work with Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I and Asus Gigabit router? How much is shipping to Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland?
Will this work with Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I and Asus Gigabit router? How much is shipping to Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland?

Hello santosh, Yes, this POE injector will be just fine with that HikVision IP camera. Shipping to NI is free, £15 +VAT to Ireland.

Can I use this with my Virgin MEDIA hub to power a Hikvision Cube IP camera over PoE, or will I also need a splitter?

You can use this POE injector to power a Hikvision cube camera. Simply place the injector between your Virgin router and the camera - no need for a splitter.
