The Vivotek FD8134 Fixed Dome Network Camera provides an indoor solution for both day and night coverage. Equipped with a 1/4" CMOS image sensor capable of resolutions of up to 1280x800 at 30fps, the FD8134 delivers megapixel resolution through a 3.6mm fixed lens.
The FD8134 supports the industry-standard H.264 compression technology, which drastically reduces file sizes and conserves valuable network bandwidth. With MPEG-4 and MJPEG compatibility also included, video streams can be sent in any of these formats for versatile applications. Each stream is also individually configurable allowing users to meet different constraints, thereby further reducing bandwidth and storage requirements. This then allows users to receive multiple streams simultaneously in different resolutions, frame rates, and image qualities for viewing on different platforms. The FD8134 can provide 24-hour indoor surveillance and features true day and night functionality with a removable IR-cut filter and built-in IR illuminators.
The FD8134 also features tamper detection, MicroSD/SDHC card slot, 802.3af compliant PoE, and Vivotek's 32-channel recording software.

Product Questions (7)
Can you mix the vivotek FD8134 with a set up of axis cameras using axis camera companion. Its just i need to add a true night capable camera and i can't see one in the Axis range that even comes close to the same price as this one.
Question by: Rich on 20 Jan 2013 19:35:17
Sorry no, Axis Camera Companion only works with Axis IP cameras, and as you say Axis currently only offer very limited options with built-in infra-red (M1143/44-L).

Is this camera suitable for viewing from my Iphone 3Gs
and my laptap . Also is there a subscribtion fee if i only want to use the camera for live viewing only ?
Question by: Damien on 24 May 2012 12:08:59
Yes, Vivotek provide their own iPhone App called iViewer which you should be able to find in the iTunes App store.
You can simply browse to the camera using Internet Explorer from your laptop (simple when your laptop is on the same network, a bit more complicated if you're viewing from elsewhere in the world via the www).
No ongoing fees.

Happy that this camera is not suitable for true outside exposure as per the other post, however would it be suitable to place in a dry, covered location such as a porch?
Question by: Adam on 9 Sep 2011 08:39:32
I think it would be fine in a porch.
Bear in mind the advice that we repeat many times throughout the website that you cannot 'see out' through windows using cameras with built-in infra-red LEDs, you will see only the reflection of those LEDs in the window.

Is this camera suitable for use out side extreme salt air conditions ??
Question by: grantpeet on 28 Mar 2011 13:07:25
The Vivotek FD8134 is an indoor camera, the FD8134V is an outdoor vandal-resistant version of the same camera. It's impossible to be sure how long this camera will last in marine / seaside conditions. Only stainless steel is really durable for marine applications. Typically, painted camera housings will be fine for about 3 years and then the salt corrosion will cause the paint to blister and peel. Some alloys will also suffer from oxidisation. The camera will probably continue to work OK. You will need to ensure that you clean the dome's bubble sufficiently often to keep it clear of build-ups of salt and other dirt.
