The AXIS M1031-W integrates a passive infrared (PIR) sensor for detecting movement – even in the dark. It includes a white LED for illuminating the scene automatically at an event or when requested by the user. It also offers two-way audio communication with integrated microphone and speaker, allowing remote listening in on an area as well as communication with individuals directly or using recorded audio clips.
AXIS M1031-W provides multiple, individually configurable video streams in H.264 as well as Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 Part 2. Full frame rate and resolution is provided in either compression. The H.264 compression enables optimization for bandwidth and storage efficiency by significantly reducing the bit rate.

Regarding the Axis promo video, the man sends the txt message to email@example.com, is this something which exists already ? Does it work in the uk ?
Do you also provide the software for iphone or blackberry? Price?
Question by: laurent on 6 Jan 2010 10:18:58
Well spotted! I've never really noticed that. Unfortunately, no. It is just a way of Axis demonstrating that you can receive emails from their network camera, and can then forward them onto another email address.
You could arrange a service with a professional key holding company or with a remote monitoring centre to manage your response to a break-in. A remote monitoring centre (sometimes called Alarm Receiving Centres - ARC) would be able to check your video camera and would have the credibility to arrange a Police response.
The emailing demonstrated in the promo video is just using the standard email features of smart phones. If you need software or an App to view live CCTV, then check our forum (link at top of page) to see lists for each mobile phone type i.e. iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, etc. Lots to choose from. Some are only suitable for certain camera models or specific to certain CCTV recording software.
Hope that helps ...
