I have an ancient AD512 netgear router, and a 500 year old house with thick walls, it seems to penetrate most of them, but the signal in the kitched is weak, which is where I want the camera. I am resigned to the fact that I may have to upgrade to N at some stage. To my question, would the camera work if it could grab enough signal no matter how weak? We have a mixture of ipad mini's macbook's and win7 pc's floating about. We really want to use it on the ipad mini for when we are travelling, and have access to a wi-fi network. Will this cam work on the mini, using b/g and latterly N should we upgrade later? Thanks M

If your wireless devices are able to achieve a network connection from your kitchen to your router then there's a reasonable chance that the camera will also be able to, but obviously we are unable to guarantee wireless connectivity performance.
Yes, when you are travelling, you should be able to use your iPad mini to browse to and view the camera.

Thanks for your very helpful note above re dynamic IP address via dyndns.com, but dyndns is no longer free. Is the EyeSpy247 web portal service included within the price of the camera for the first year?
Question by: Jon F on 26 May 2012 11:15:40
Yes, EyeSpy247 do offer free use of their web portal for the first year.
To use DynDNS you can sign up for a Pro account, and if you decide not to retain the paid-for Pro version they do allow you to continue to use your dyndns access to your dynamic web IP address.

Can I set up this camera using an Apple Mac?
Can I monitor it and control it using an iphone?
Question by: J on 22 Nov 2011 12:12:02
Yes, there's a set up guide especially for Mac users. See the link on our webshop product page for this IP camera, just above the link to the datasheet.
You can view a live stream from on an iPhone certainly and we there's a special mobile version of the EyeSpy247 web portal to enable even easier access. You can even access the admin interface from your iPhone to make any changes.

Hi. I am interested in buying this product - EyeSpy247 HDSD Compact Wireless HD IP Camera - and monitor the camera remotely over the internet from a Windows 7 PC, but don't necessarily want to use the eyespy247 platform, merely connect myself to the camera. Is this possible? If so, what functionality is lost in that case?
Question by: John Piatt on 5 Sep 2011 18:24:33
Yes you can do as you say.
EyeSpy 247's web portal offers you easy web access to your cameras and has the ability to capture and store images and video on the web for you to access/review later (from anywhere).
They also facilitate easy installation and setup of their IP cameras via their portal. Without this you will need to manually configure port forwarding on your router (to allow remote access to the camera via the router), and, if the site where you install the camera has a dynamic IP address (the most common type, where the Internet Service Provider changes the site's IP address on the internet), you will also need to configure a service such as dyndns.com (Free service) to track your site's changing web IP address. Dyndns will allow you to create a friendly web url which always takes you to your site / IP camera.
