The Veracity CSTORE15-3U-PRO-UK COLDSTORE 3U Pro is a unique sequential surveillance storage array designed from the ground up for video surveillance.
This unit has Veracity's Linear Array of Idle Disks (L.A.I.D) technology and combines that with COLDSTORE's Sequential disk Filing System (S.F.S) to produce a powerfully simple system that can provide generous storage capacity at a low cost. These two features deliver a highly reliable storage system that dramatically extends disk lifetime.
As the 3U Pro version of COLDSTORE this device provides higher performance over the standard 3U system, with the same high levels of reliability. This unit is designed for more demanding applications with high camera counts and higher bit rates.
The CSTORE15-3U-PRO-UK features extended disk lifetimes as the disks are used sequentially any not in use will be switched off. This saves powers and greatly reduces temperature, vibration and wear. As well as this the system uses a unique mirrored overlapping pair writing pattern to provide full data redundancy during the critical writing process. This feature means the unit delivers the redundancy of RAID1 on write but unlike RAID1 does not require double the number of disks. Disks automatically switch on for playback, but typically playback from non-writing disks is infrequent and hardly affects the average duty cycle.
The COLDSTORE 3U Pro is built around an industry-standard main-board system with a power-efficient CPU and Veracity designed backplanes. If the unit is fully populated with 300TB array it will use less than 60W. A low power consumption helps extend the electronic component lifetime, which, combined with extended disk lifetimes, reduced cooling costs and lower UPS purchase costs, results in a very low overall total cost of ownership.
The device is easy to configure, manage and monitor with Veracity's universal site configuration tool, SITESCAPE. The application allows automatic device discovery, configuration of settings, analysis of disks and a basic level of diagnostics.
The CSTORE15-3U-PRO-UK features simple disk management, disks may be added 'on the fly' and will automatically be incorporated into the array. There are disk status LEDs next to each disk slot indicate, writing, selection, fault and removal readiness. These simple features, along with the user friendly SITESCAPE allow COLDSTORE and the disks to be easily managed by system integrators and end-users alike.
The CSTORE15-3U-PRO-UK features a new embedded NVR option that provides continuous recording of all RTSP and ONVIF Profile S compatible IP cameras. This NVR can co-exist with Veracity's direct to storage TRINITY system which uses COLDSTREAM software on open platform IP cameras to write directly to COLDSTORE. This NVR can use Veracity's VIEWPOINT simple player application for Windows and is also fully compatible with the high-end VIEWSCAPE integrated security system Command and Control platform for larger control rooms. Alternatively, third-party client applications can use Veracity's SDK or ONVIF Profile G to support the COLDSTORE NVR system directly.
