Hello guys,
I bought some DS-2CD2343G2-LI2U camera to connect to an M-series nvr
I'm still waiting for the nvr but in the meantime I trying to configure smart events on the camera.
In details I configured people detection, configuring the min,max and detection area but after saving I don't see any detection box when people is in the camera view.
Because I don't have yes the nvr and also the memory card I can't check with the recording of the detention is working.
But I've tried to use the smart light included with the auto setting which should power on when the object is detected.
So I tried with low light and really when in front of the camera the light is powering on. So it seems to work
The same apply trying the line crossing but in both cases no one box appear on the screen on the detected object.
Is there any settings I've to configure to have it highlighted on the live view or what?

Thank for any feedback

Regards

I'd probably leave it until you have the NVR. Configuring them standalone then adding them to an NVR later you're likely to make a configuration mistake somewhere along the line.

However in answer to your question. The Smart Events don't appear on screen by default. If you want to display them you need to go Configuration > Local and in Live View Parameter section turn on 'Rules' (see below). That will overlay the image with the line or intrusion area box in Green, highlight possible targets, turn the box/line Red when a target triggers your event. It's handy for testing but I'd turn it off once setup. The logs will also show when the events have triggered (Maintenance & Security > Maintenance > Log) Filter your start and end date and time, set Major Type to Alarm and optionally set the minor type to a specific event. That will filter the log to show the activations.

Also if you have the camera registered with Hik-Connect you can temporarily turn it on for display in the app - Me > Gearwheel icon > Display VCA Rule
